2015 GVMC CIRCLE TOUR
This year the Circle Tour destination was the Bonaparte Motel in Cache Creek. The eighteen riders and four passengers arrived in Cache Creek on the Friday (June 26) and departed on Sunday (June 28). They had the choice of two routes to Cache Creek; the Duffy Lake route or the Fraser Canyon, most returned via the Fraser Canyon after realizing the traffic jam that normally occurs around Whistler on a Sunday would not be fun.
Steve Prost had laid out two routes for Saturday, basically one to the Merritt area and the other to the Chasm. Some participants did both rides while others did one route as they were more focused to get back to the swimming pool as temperatures reached into the high 30ís. Many spent all or part of the day socializing in the pool with most of the ladies wearing their sun hats.
Saturday evening we gathered at the Homestead Restaurant on the outdoor patio for a supper. As the Circle Tour has always been a fund raiser all the participants were responsible for their own expenses with all entry fees and no expenses forwarded to the Club.
Many thanks to Steve Prost and Barry Cargo for organizing this event, they are already thinking about 2016.
