History Of The Spring Ride and Social

The Spring Ride and Social was instigated in 2007 by Dwight and Pat Harris to get the riding season off to a good start and to polish up rusty riding skills. It was a chance to renew accquaintances with fellow Club Members and socialize over dinner after the winter hiatus.

Event Comments:
2017 11th Annual GVMC Spring Fun Ride

Sunday, April 9th, started off dry but chilly. Organizers and helpers were at the Clubhouse early setting up the parking lot and registration table etc. Riders started arriving, got registered, got their score cards, got some coffee and donuts, and proceeded through checkpoints 1 and 2. They then had their photos taken and received the route sheets, which took them up the Fraser Valley past Chilliwack and back, a distance of 213 kms. According to reports after the Ride, it was an excellent route, and many of the riders had never driven on some of the roads.

This year we had four out-of-towners show up; two from Quesnel and two from Oak Harbour, Washington. Great to have them!

When everyone returned to the Clubhouse they sat down to a meal of Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Coleslaw, Raisin Sauce, Buns, Pie and Icecream.

The Score Cards were tallied, winners were announced and prizes handed out. Pictures can be viewed on the Club's website.

Thanks to everyone who attended this annual first Ride of the Season.
