| Description: | Hello all long haul riders, For the next Weekend Rider's Series 2026 is a Monday ride. August 24 Monday. I won't apologize for this early, long and challenging ride. Riders interested in a good pace, longer day, good food and a bigger challenge - here it is. I am leaving early from South Surrey on Monday August 24. The meet up is 5:00 am at St. David's Church in West Van see map. The ride is to Whistler, Pemberton (fuel / break) and Lillooet. At the 99 / 97 Junction we head north through Clinton and see how much has changed from the fires. Up to the first exit to Green Lake staying on 97 and stop at the Sugar Shack for lunch. The owners never left the Shack and stayed to fend off fires and hosted all the fire fighters with free coffee. Take an hour at the Shack and then head south on 97 to 97C Ashcroft down to Logan Lake ending up in Merritt. If Coldwater reopens we can try Coldwater out of Merritt if not, it's the Coquihalla down. Will stop at the brake check food trailer prior to the Bear Shed Tunnel. Routed Othello prior to Merritt and then eventually back on highway #1. Scoot to Yale Rd West and head across the valley back to south Surrey. Riders can peel off where it makes sense. Bringing water, snacks, a coffee thermos and a fuller tank of gas to start all makes sense. Fun fact Chevron charges $1 for coffee if you bring your own mug any size. Lunch: Sugar Shack off 97- 70 Mile 2481 Willow Dr, 70 Mile House, BC V0K 2K0 Video: I am willing to shoot some Insta 360 video of the ride. It's a fun way to capture the riders.
