The Spring Ride was instigated in 2007 by Dwight and Pat Harris to get the riding season off to a good start and to polish up rusty riding skills. It was a chance to renew acquaintances with fellow Club Members and socialize over dinner after the winter hiatus.
A highlight of this Ride was a group photo of all the riders in front of our banner and individual keepsake photos presented to each rider. Initially all the individual photos were posted on a back board on the Clubhouse wall during the year’s riding season.
Over the years, The Spring Ride has continued to be the event that starts the riding season off for us.

Event Comments: 2024 18th Annual Spring Fun Run
This year’s weather wasn’t very good, it rained almost all day.
We started from Trev Deeley’s again this year, The turnout was the same as last year.
The route was at the discretion of the rider. There were five stops with questions starting in Richmond and going all the way out to Agassiz. The route I took was 261 KM and took 4 HR 20 MIN.
This year’s winners are: First Place with 40 points and a tie breaking card of, The Ace of Hearts. Phil Blackburn. Second Place with 40 points and a tie breaking card of, The Queen of Hearts. Wes Jamison. Third Place with 30 points. Dwight Harris The Booby Prize went to Anna from the OMC.
We had 13 sign ups, we also had 5 members just come for dinner. There were two new visitors that showed to see what the ride was about but couldn’t stay.
Leftover Dinner was served at the Tuesdays meeting and added to the ride total.
Due to the cyber-attack on London Drugs, we weren’t able to have the pictures developed, they were sent by email directly to the participants.
I would like to thank Dave Kingston, (Pictures and cooking) Jackie Heppler, Frank Elsner (Sign up.) Jim Brooke (For bringing the Square.) Jackie, Frank, David K., Julie. (Helping in the kitchen.) Don Bowman, Jim Sloat and Dave Kingston. Frank Elsner (Cone pick up and teardown at Deeley’s.) and everyone not mentioned that jumped in to help.
