Event Comments:
2024 GVMC Annual Charity Ride
The 2024 GVMC Annual Charity Ride was held on May 25, 2024, in support of the Langley Food Bank.
There were 15 participants in attendance with 4 on motorcycles and 1 in a car heading out on the route on a very miserable rainy day which turned out sunny on their return. Too bad we didn’t have good weather to start with so we would have had a better attendance. Those who did attend had a great social time with good food at the end of the Ride.
There was a very well-coordinated Route Sheet which required the participants to answer observation questions along the way. When the questions were tallied we had a three-way tie for first place, so cards were drawn to determine first, second and third places. First place was Jim Sloat with a King of Diamonds, Second went to Dave Kingston with a six of spades and Third went to Wes Jamison with a five of Clubs. Honorable Mention was won by Pat Mainardi.
A big thank you to the Club for their support. To Jackie H. for registration and scoring the question sheets, to Jim B. for preparing the Route Sheet, to Wes J. for Media support, to Frank E. and Harold F. for preparing the barbecue lunch, and to Phil B. for organization and shopping.
Put this Charity event on your calendar for 2025 hoping for better attendance and better weather next year.
